25 Randoms (or whatever)

Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 12:03pm | Original Post Date

Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.

(To do this, go to “notes” under tabs on your profile page, paste these instructions in the body of the note, type your 25 random things, tag 25 people (in the right hand corner of the app) then click publish.)

1. When I think about wine, I think about home-made stuff at Christie's and Kathy's house, which was imbibed after the Sport's Page and prior to the cover-charge at Baba's lounge, tout la gang!

2. I like to sing in the shower.

3. I prefer solid colours (dark, bold colours to light ones) to patterned or designs, usually (There are always exceptions, of course).

4. I am not partial to the colour yellow - at all. Oddly, enough though, I live in a pale yellow brick house with butter-cream coloured walls. Go Figure.

5. Everything we do in life is a choice. Complain about everything all you want, but in the end, we have to accept our own responsibility for our actions.

6. My technology - and I have a LOT - loves me. I know because I programmed it to say so ...

7. I relate to Donald Duck - a lot. (I have anger management issues, too!)

8. Although I am an atheist, I am searching for a spiritual connection to the earth and my fellow man.

9. I have written several novels and oodles of short-stories and poetry, all for my own pleasure.

10. I hope to write for a past-time to keep my mind active when I am older and preparing to retire.

11. One year, I reviewed my credit cards statement and debit statements and had a tally of over $10,000 spent in one bar/restaruant (Baba's/Cedar's). Seriously. I think I paid someone's salary.

12. Growing up (like at 7-10) I wanted to be an restaurateur, inn keeper, or bar owner. As I got older, I wanted to write and/or help people. (Dummies guides? Anyone?)

13. The comma needs to be utilized more, please! Grammar Rocks!

14. The dash--and no, I am not talking about a hyphen-- is an underutilized component of grammar.

15. I believe we all have a responsibility towards our earth, our fellow lifeforms on this planet, and to each other. What I do today effects others miles away as we are all connected in a vast web of life.

16. I spent most of my early teen years in fear because I received so many harassing / hate phone calls about my sexuality. The bullying was so bad, I wanted to drop out of Grade 8.

17. I have no respect for organized religions that preach doctrine of hate, intolerance, and selfishness. So, that pretty much rules out any of the big ones!

18. I always wanted children, but lately I have been debating it. 1? 2? Boys or Girls? or 1 of each? ages? Do I want them at all anymore? Sigh. Can you tell I have the adoption application on my desk waiting to be filled out?

19. I always wanted to live in a rural cottage in the country, surrounded by rose and flowers gardens, vegetable gardens, and plenty of wilderness around me. Like a hundred-acre woods. I love chopping wood!

20. I actually like dandelions. I love to see wild fields of yellow (surprising, considering I dislike the colour) blossoming in the spring-time. My yard, however, is a different kettle of fish.

21. I grew up thinking I would have to leave my family so could be true to myself and all that I am and would be as I thought no one would understand or accept me. Foolish and nonsense, really. Anyone that doesn't accept me simply doesn't love me. Why should I give a care about them? Accept or reject me, but do not disrespect me.

22. I like working my hands as much as I like working with my mind.

23. I never feel like I truly commit to anything 100% because I am always searching for some missing component.

24. I love wild game! My favorite meat is muskox.

25. I will not send this out to 25 people; no ones needs more notifications or facebook-junk mail (no offense to anyone else that does that ...)
